A day in the life of a Yogi

Today's blog post is about Mandy and her yoga business Blossom Yoga and Wellbeing, which she started up just over a year ago.

Beforehand, life was headed down a very different path. As a lawyer for Eversheds lawfirm, she worked extremely long hours and soon realised this wasn't what she wanted whilst bringing up her two girls with her husband, Keri, who is also a lawyer. Having practiced yoga since she was a student she then became qualified to teach five years ago and has never looked back.

Blossom Yoga and Wellbeing is aimed at expectant Mums and Mums with babies. Having had two girls and suffered PND with her first, she understands the challenges of Motherhood and never wants anyone to feel as she did.

She wants to provide women with a network to support them and create an environment where they feel comfortable being just as they are with their babies. Whether they are finding it hard or enjoying the experience of being a new Mum, Mandy's yoga classes are there for everyone.

I asked Mandy what inspires her most and drives her,

'Seeing the transformation in my mums and making friendships that last even once their classes finish. I have seen Mums drop barriers, leave their anxieties behind, feel empowered and blossom into confident mothers. Helping Mums prepare for the birth of their baby is an honour. If I can make a little bit of a difference, then I am blessed.

I become friends with my Mums and they create their own friendship groups which can transform their experience of being a new mum. I suffered with PND after I had Grace and I don't want that for any of my ladies. I hope the classes give them space to find support and to feel nurtured.'

If you're expecting a baby or perhaps you've given birth recently and are looking for a way to meet new people whilst being able to do an activity with your baby, get in touch with Mandy. She's one lovely and wise lady! You can contact her via her website www.blossomyogaandwellbeing.com or follow her on instagram @mandyreesyogini

A few random facts about Mandy: I love anything that is pink and sparkles. I appeared in a Wham! Video when I was 14. I love cats and talk to mine as if they are humans. I was once captain of the Warwickshire gymkhana team. We competed in the Prince Phillip Cup and made it through to regional finals. It is my ambition to walk the Great Wall of China and go on a archeological dig.
